Now in its 36th year, the annual MRA Toy Run organised by the South Motorcycle Riders Association is on Saturday 28th November 2015.
That distinctive roar of thousands of motorcycles will be heard on the Brooker Highway heading to Parliament House, arriving around 2.50pm.
This is the largest annual gathering of motorcycle riders in Tasmania, and happens regardless of the weather! From all over the state, they will first converge on the Derwent Entertainment Centre in readiness for the event, and will depart at 2.30pm heading for Parliament House lawns where Salvation
Army staff and volunteers will be waiting to receive the gifts, toys, food and donations that the riders generously carry with them.
David Wood talks with Mark Foyle from The Salvation Army about the Toy Ride and other initiatives the Salvos have this Christmas to bring a little cheer into the lives of those who are experiencing a difficult time this year.
