Alex Van Der Hek talks with The Big J about this weekends Hobart Model Train Show

The event is a joint initiative between the Glenorchy Lions Club and the British Railway Modellers of Australia (BRMA) in conjunction with the Tasmanian Transport Museum Society (TTMS).
A wide assortment of TTMS trains and trams will be open for inspection, as well as about 20 model train layouts from across Tasmania. Featuring entertainment for the whole family, the show will include children’s competitions, a raffle, refreshments – including the Lions Club food van and barbecue, and trade stalls. Steam train rides all weekend.

The Model Train Show will be held at the Tasmanian Transport Museum Society premises in Anfield Street, Glenorchy on Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 4pm.
Entry costs $25 for a family or $12 for an adult and $5 for a child.Tickets at the gate August 3 and August 4 10am til 4pm.
