On Jeans for Genes Day (5th August), the Children’s Medical Research Institute (CMRI) is encouraging Aussies to dig out their best denim and wear it loud and proud to help cure childhood genetic diseases, which currently affect 1 in every 20 Aussie kids.
This year to coincide with the Olympics, Jeans for Genes have today created a life-sized ‘Jean Pool’ seeing Olympic swimming champions don denim in a relay race against celebrities.
● Every year, 500 children in Australia will lose their lives to a childhood disease.
● One in twenty children in Australia is born with a genetic disease or congenital abnormality and even more develop epilepsy and cancer.
