Golf Tasmania Development Manager Simon Weston has explained to Dave  Golf Month will have critical dual focuses for the State’s 68 clubs.

Golf Tasmania see golf as one of Australia’s major sports and golf tourism is exploding in Tasmania with the establishment of public, premium courses such as Barnbougle and Lost Farm in the North and Cape Wickham on King Island,”

Simon says however traditional, member-based clubs in Tasmania, and the rest of Australia, are facing the crossroads as full memberships continue to diminish.

Golf Tasmania is keen for clubs across the State to face the future by introducing new, flexible membership models and making their facilities community hubs.

Golf Month offers a range of activities for participating clubs, including: Membership Drives, Member Guest Days, Open Days, Family Days, 3, 6 & Nine Hole Events, Twilight Events, MyGolf Junior clinics, Swing Fit sessions, Big Hole Golf (eight-inch cups) and Night Golf.
