The Kingborough community has clearly declared it wants to see urgent action on improving grounds
and facilities at the Sports Centre in
Warren Iles, President of the Kingborough LionsUnited Football Club this week delivered a petition with over 500 messages to Federal, State and Local Government representatives.
He tells Dave A key message from those who signed is the need to encourage healthy physical activity in our children.
Sadly experience this season again proves that the biggest challenge for the Kingbourgh a club is having the
grounds available for our juniors and youth players throughout winter.
With the support of Kingborough Council, the Kingborough Lions are currently seeking $790,000 in
Government funding for a first-stage and shovel with lighting at their home ground at Lightwood Park
Kingborough Sports Centre Masterplan.
The proposed second stage of the Club’s vision for developing football south of Hobart is
all-weather and multi-sport synthetic grounds, increased Kingborough Sports Precinct to benefit a range of sporting and recreational activities.
