COTA Tasmania is conducting a free information session for older Tasmanians about protecting financial and legal interests, this Thursday, 10am to 12.30pm at the Hopkins St Centre in Moonah.

In the “Taking Control” session, independent, expert speakers from ASIC, Hobart Community Legal Service, Australian Competition and Consumer Commission and Tasmania Police will provide expert advice in plain English on a range of important issues impacting older Tasmanians.

 Topics will include financial management, legal matters, online scams and financial elder abuse. The presentation style will be casual and interactive and questions will be encouraged.

The session runs from 10am to 12.30pm at the Hopkins St Centre (65 Hopkins Street, the former Arts Centre, next door to the medical centre). There is ample parking adjacent.


A hearty morning tea will be served!   


The Taking Control sessions are part of the World Elder Abuse Awareness Day campaign currently being facilitated by COTA Tasmania.
